Farmers in Austria have problems due to a drought. The drought causes damage of 1 billion euro. The government fights about help for the farmers. SPÖ and NEOS want the help only with a climate law.
Georg Knill does not like this. He is the head of the industry group. He calls this link strange. Knill warns of strict rules for the climate. He wants no more than the EU asks. The EU wants climate neutrality by the year 2050.
The government wants the goal in the year 2040. Knill says: This hurts the business. The industry needs more time. Also the FPÖ criticizes the government. It asks for the costs for firms. Minister Hattmannsdorfer gives no exact answers.
