Securing the PCK Refinery Schwedt
There is positive news for the industrial site in Schwedt, Brandenburg. The federal government has extended the employment security for the approximately 1,200 employees of the PCK refinery until the end of June 2026. This measure is intended to maintain social security at the site despite the difficult ownership structures and the move away from Russian crude oil.
More Oil from Kazakhstan
To further stabilize the refinery's utilization rate, a new supply contract was concluded with Kazakhstan for the year 2026. The monthly crude oil deliveries are set to increase from the current 100,000 tons to 130,000 tons. The majority owner, Rosneft Deutschland, which is under state trusteeship, confirmed the agreement with the Kazakh energy company. This is considered an important step to permanently secure the utilization of the facility, which was recently at about 80 to 90 percent.
