The English top-tier club Crystal Palace has officially announced that its head coach, Oliver Glasner, will leave at the end of the current season. As the club stated, the decision to end the collaboration was made by mutual agreement. Glasner took over the team in February of last year and guided them to a stable position in the secure middle of the Premier League table.
The club explicitly praised the achievements under the leadership of the Upper Austrian. In particular, the tactical development and the team spirit within the squad were highlighted as positive aspects of his tenure. Nevertheless, both parties decided to terminate the originally longer contract early after intensive discussions.
There is currently no clarity about the future plans of the 50-year-old football coach. Speculation about a possible return to the German Bundesliga or a position at another top international club accompanies the news of his departure. Crystal Palace has not yet presented a successor for the coming season. Glasner will continue to manage the team in the remaining matches of the current season.
