There is a special sick case in Italy. A man caught the Bird Flu H9N2. This is the first time in Europe. The man lives in the Lombardy region.
He comes from a country outside Europe. He probably caught it there. He had contact with sick birds. The man is already in the hospital. He was not fully healthy before.
Experts say: There is no reason to worry. The virus does not spread from person to person. All contact persons of the sick man are healthy. Their tests were negative.
The H9N2 virus is usually rather mild. Worldwide, there have been only 195 cases in humans so far. Most cases happened in China. This virus is very rare in Europe.
