Emma Aicher missed the win in the Downhill World Cup. The ski racer took 5th place in Kvitfjell. The race happened in Norway. Laura Pirovano from Italy won the downhill. She secured the small Crystal Globe. This is the prize for the best downhill skier of the season.
Pirovano had a lead of 83 points over Aicher at the end. Emma Aicher was still happy. She called her success this season a bonus. She was not as successful before this season. Her team mate Kira Weidle-Winkelmann came third. She missed first place by only 0.25 seconds.
Aicher still has a chance for the overall World Cup. She closed the gap to Mikaela Shiffrin. The distance is now 95 points. There are still 3 races this season. Aicher must drive very well in the Super G. The competition continues on Sunday.
