The EU Parliament made an important decision. It concerns people without the right to stay in Europe. These people must leave the country faster. The lawmakers voted for centers outside the EU.
People go to these centers after their asylum process. This happens if they have no right to protection. They wait there for their trip back to their home country. These places are called return centers.
The majority in the Parliament supported this plan. Mostly right and conservative politicians voted for it. They want to lower the number of migrants in Europe. Critics do not like the plan. They worry about human rights.
The EU must now find countries. These countries must allow the centers on their soil. Working with these third countries is important. There are no firm agreements for these centers yet.
