The World Championships for track and field take place indoors in Glasgow. The Swiss runner Audrey Werro ran a very good race. She competes in the 800 meter event. Werro won her race in the semi final for sure. Now she is in the big final on Sunday.
Other runners from Switzerland had less luck. Lore Hoffmann was narrowly eliminated in the semi final. Ajla Del Ponte and Valentina Rosamilia also did not advance. They were already out in the first heats.
Two athletes from Austria started in the 60 meter race. Magdalena Lindner and Isabel Posch ran fast times. But their time was not enough for the next round. Both are out of the competition.
A big star of the championships is Armand Duplantis. He comes from Sweden. He jumps very high with the pole. Duplantis often wins gold medals. All spectators watch his high jumps with excitement.
