There was an important ruling in Berlin. A court gave 4 men jail terms. The sentences last between 4 and 6 years. The men belong to the group Hamas. Germany says: Hamas is a terror group.
The men were in charge of secret weapon stores. These stores were in Poland, Bulgaria, and Denmark. Hamas wanted to use the weapons for attacks. Targets were Jewish or Israeli places in Europe. Police arrested the men in December 2023.
The court calls this case a pilot project. It was the first trial of this kind in Germany. The judges are sure: The men worked for terror. The main defendant said it was just private weapon trade. The court did not believe him.
