Lucas Pinheiro Braathen makes sports history. The ski racer wins the small Crystal Globe in Giant Slalom. He is the first Brazilian with this success. The final took place in the place Hafjell.
His big opponent was Marco Odermatt. The Swiss man led before the race. But Odermatt made a mistake. He dropped out in the first run. Then the way was free for Braathen.
Braathen also won the race of the day. He skied two very fast runs. Loic Meillard from Switzerland came in second. The Austrian Stefan Brennsteiner took rank 4. He just missed the podium.
It is a special season for Braathen. He started earlier for the country Norway. Now he gets the first overall win for Brazil. On Wednesday he has another chance. The Slalom takes place then.
