The government plans new rules for the Matura. The rules start in 2027. The final paper at the Gymnasium is now voluntary.
Students can pick an extra exam. This exam is oral or written. The oral Matura has a minimum score. A student needs 30 percent of points. Before, participation was enough.
Bad marks also have new chances. Students with 2 bad marks can take the Matura. They must pass repeat exams first.
Cheating has stricter rules. A hidden tool is enough for a penalty. It just has to be ready to use.
Schools have less office work. They keep notes for 3 years. Before, it was 60 years.
