The 70th Eurovision Song Contest begins in Vienna today. It is the biggest music contest in the world. The first half-final starts at 9 o'clock. It happens in the City Hall. 15 countries take part today. Only 10 countries go to the final on Saturday.
Victoria Swarovski and Michael Ostrowski host the show. They want to be very natural on stage. The city has many parties for fans. There is a party tram with loud music. People can sing songs in front of the Opera House. But rain stopped the singing on Monday.
There is also much conflict about the contest. Many people protest against the country Israel. They put small coffins at Sweden Square. This reminds people of dead children in the war. Some countries like Spain stay away this year. They dislike the actions of Israel in the war.
