US President Donald Trump visits China. He meets the leader Xi Jinping. They meet in the city Beijing. A US President has not visited in 10 years. This is the first time again.
The two men talk about important topics. One topic is the island Taiwan. China says: Taiwan belongs to China. Taiwan says: We are our own country. Xi Jinping warns the USA. He says: A mistake can cause a war.
Another topic is the war in Iran. There is a small part of the sea near Iran. It is called the Strasse von Hormus. Many ships carry oil there. Trump and Xi agree: The sea must stay open. Otherwise there is no energy for the world.
Trump likes his host. He calls Xi a great leader. He says: It is an honor to be your friend. Xi says: USA and China must be partners. They must not be enemies. Both countries want to do more business.
Many chiefs of US firms are there. For example Elon Musk from Tesla. And Tim Cook from Apple. China wants to welcome firms from the USA. Trump asks Xi to visit Washington. The visit happens on September 24.
