Japan has a big danger from storms. The heavy storm is Mekkhala. A second storm is Higos. It is far away on the sea. The two storms can meet. This is the Fujiwhara-Effekt. Then nobody knows the path of the storms.
The government warns about much rain. Water can cover the land. This is a flood. Earth can slide down from mountains. Over 2 million people must find a safe place. This is true for the west of Japan. There are warnings in the city Kyoto too.
Many trips do not happen. Over 200 planes stay on the ground. Many trains do not drive. The highways are closed in some parts. The company Toyota stops work in a factory. The storm was in Taiwan before. Schools and offices stayed closed there. The strong rain stays for some days.
