Ethiopia had a vote for the parliament. The vote was on June 1. The result is now clear. The party of Abiy Ahmed wins. The name is Prosperity Party or PP. The party gets 438 seats. The parliament has 501 seats in total. This is 90 percent of the votes.
Many people went to the vote. 94 percent of people voted. This is what the authorities say. But there were problems. People did not vote in some areas. One area is Tigray. There was a bad civil war there. There was also trouble in Amhara and Oromia. Armed groups blocked the roads there.
Abiy Ahmed is the leader since 2018. People had high hopes for him. He set prisoners free. In 2019 he got the Peace Nobel Prize. He made peace with the country Eritrea. Later he changed his style. He became strict. Critics say: He stops other opinions. Many people died in the war in Tigray. 600,000 people died.
