There is a fight about health in Austria. Two big groups have a new plan. They are the union and the chamber of commerce. They want to limit the states. The social insurance should lead in the future.
From 2028 the social insurance pays for clinics. From 2039 it takes over all hospitals. Currently the states manage the hospitals. This plan wants to change that.
The central government should get more rights. It decides on closing hospital sites. The states can no longer stop this. This saves money and improves care.
There should be new centers for doctors. These centers help the hospitals. Patients go there for quick help. Politicians talk about this plan on Tuesday.
