The results of the Matura 2026 are ready. Almost all students passed the exam. More than 98 percent of students passed. The grades are good like last year. Education politician Christoph Wiederkehr is happy. He thanks all students and teachers.
Many students got top grades in English. One in 5 students got a top grade. The Math exam was hard for some students. Almost 10 percent needed a second try. This exam is a 'Kompensations-Prüfung'. It is a second chance exam. After that almost all students passed Math.
Girls are often better in the German subject. Boys often have better grades in Math. The state Steiermark had many top grades in German. Vienna had many top grades in English. Final numbers come in December 2026.
