Severe storms hit North Italy on Tuesday. A strong storm moved over the coast. The wind was very strong. A tornado hit the region. Ice fell from the sky. The ice pieces were very big. Some were as big as small balls. Others were 15 centimeters big.
The bad weather broke many things. The ice broke glass on cars. Roofs of houses also broke. In the region Ravenna, 100 trees fell down. Roads were closed. Trains were late or did not drive.
The farms have big damage. The storm destroyed fields with food. Farmers say the damage costs many millions. In South Italy, the weather is very hot. It is over 40 degrees. Many forests burn.
