There are big forest fires in Spain. A fire burns near Madrid. It destroys 13,000 hectares of forest. That is like many thousand soccer fields. Over 700 people must flee.
The fire department fights the flames. Many people help on the ground. Planes drop water on the fire. They want to stop the fire. There are no dead people yet.
The fire also burns in a National-Park. Rare animals live there. For example eagles and wolves. Butterflies are in danger too. The nature suffers a lot from the fire.
Fires also burn in the north east of Spain. Near Saragossa 16,000 hectares burned. The situation is not safe there. In the past 13 people died in Almeria.
Experts say: The heat is a reason. It rains too little in Spain. This makes the forest very dry. Fires start more easily. The Klima-Wandel makes the heat worse.
