Rene Benko is the founder of Signa. The highest court looks at his case. A lower court gave him a sentence of 2 years in prison. He gave money to his mother. The amount is 300.000 Euro. This money belongs to his creditors. This is called 'fraudulent bankruptcy'.
Benko is in jail in Innsbruck. He stays there during the court talk. He does not go to Vienna. The court makes a decision today. The court can keep the old sentence. Or the court starts a new case.
Heinz-Christian Strache is also in court. He was the deputy leader of Austria. The public prosecutor accuses him of breach of trust. It is about a life insurance policy. The party FPOe owns the policy. Strache made himself the beneficiary. He wanted to get a lot of money for himself.
Strache says: I am innocent. He says the insurance protects his work. There is a verdict in Vienna today. First, the court asks Strache questions.
