Breel Embolo is a famous football player from Switzerland. The team from Switzerland plays against Argentina. There is an important scene in minute 72. The referee thinks a player from Argentina fouls Embolo. He gives a yellow card to the player.
Then the video referee speaks to him. People call him VAR. The main referee looks at the scene again. He changes his mind. He says Embolo only fakes a foul. This action is a Schwalbe.
Embolo gets a yellow card for this. He already has one yellow card. So he must leave the field. Switzerland loses the game with 1 to 3. Now the rule makers from IFAB say it is an error. The video referee must not help in this moment.
The rules only allow help for a mix-up of persons. But here is no mix-up. The referee must not give a yellow card for a Schwalbe later. Embolo writes on the internet that the loss hurts. He wants to come back stronger soon.
