People bury him in his home city Mashhad. There is a famous grave building there. It is called the Mausoleum of Imam Reza. Many millions of people come to the ceremony. The people cry for their leader. They carry pictures of him.
Khamenei died on February 28. A bomb from Israel killed him. After that, there was a war. The USA, Israel and Iran fought. There is a weapon rest since April. But there are still new attacks. Last night, the USA attacked Iran again. This happened right before the funeral.
The mourning ceremonies lasted 6 days. People mourned in Iraq first. They visited holy places like Najaf and Kerbala. There were also ceremonies in the city Qom. Khamenei was the boss of Iran for 35 years. Now his son Mojtaba is the new leader. But Mojtaba was hurt in the attack.
