VW plans strict saving
The car company VW has big worries. The bosses of VW have new plans. They want to cut 120,000 jobs. This happens by the year 2030.
4 factories in Germany may close. This affects Emden and Hannover. Zwickau and Neckarsulm are also in danger. Maybe there are no new cars there soon.
Many workers protested on Thursday. They met at 20 places. In Emden, 1,500 people were there. They fear for their families and their money.
The union IG Metall is very angry. It calls the plans of the bosses unfair. The workers always worked hard. Now they feel alone.
VW boss Oliver Blume made a video. He says: Germany stays important for VW. But the costs are too high. VW must become faster and better.
In the future, VW wants to build fewer models. The choice for customers becomes smaller. Only this way the firm saves money. The situation for VW is life-threatening.
