Hamas made an important decision. Hamas stops a special group. This group led the daily life in the Gaza-Strip. It was like a government for the people. Hamas said this in a meeting with the press. Now experts will do this work. We call these experts technocrats. The workers keep their jobs.
But Hamas stays powerful. Hamas does not want to give up its weapons. Israel wants this. The future is uncertain without peace. It is unclear how much power Hamas keeps. Security in the Gaza-Strip is a big problem. Many houses are broken by war. 2 million people live there.
Other countries want to help with building new houses. They only help with a neutral government. Many countries do not like the rule of Hamas. Hamas rules the Gaza-Strip since the year 2007. Then a new government started there. It was apart from the Palestinian Authority. This authority is in the West-Bank. No other country accepted the rule of Hamas.
