Julian Nagelsmann stops his job as head coach

Julian Nagelsmann is not the head coach anymore. He gave up his job on Friday. The DFB says this. The contract is now over.

Nagelsmann should stay until 2028. But the German team played badly. They lost in the round of 32 against Paraguay. The team lost by shooting penalties.

Nagelsmann says: This decision was very hard. He wants a new start for the team. He thanks the players and the fans. He is sad about the loss.

The DFB searches for a new coach now. Jürgen Klopp is the favorite. He says: I am ready for talks. Klopp works for the company Red Bull now.

Klopp is a famous coach. He worked at Liverpool and Dortmund. Many people hope for him. Also the leader of Germany, Friedrich Merz, thanked him.
