A hard war with drones happens in Ukraine. Drones are small flying machines. They have no pilots. Ukraine attacks Russian ships with them. They hit 20 ships in the Black Sea in one night. Many of these ships carry oil and gas. Russia attacks ports in Ukraine in return. 3 people died in the city of Odesa.
Ukraine builds many drones itself. It needs special parts from China for them. The EU usually forbids this. The EU gives Ukraine much money for weapons. One should spend this money in Europe. But Europe cannot deliver enough parts. Therefore, Ukraine may now buy parts in China. This is an exception.
Ursula von der Leyen is the boss of the EU commission. She traveled to Kyiv. That is the main city of Ukraine. She wants to help Ukraine even more. Europe should build weapons faster and better. A messenger from the Pope was also in Ukraine. He visited prisoners from the war. He hopes for a fast end of the war.
