In Venezuela there were 2 strong earthquakes 8 days ago. Many houses fell down. More than 2.200 people died. Rescue teams search for survivors.
On Thursday rescuers found Hernan Alberto Gil Flores. He is 43 years old. He worked as a guard in a mall. He was in his guard hut during the earthquake.
The building fell down. But the small hut protected him. He had enough air to breathe. He was trapped in the cellar. Rescue teams from 7 countries helped.
The helpers came from Chile, Mexico and the USA. They gave the man water through a hole. They also sent oxygen to him. After 8 days they freed him.
The wife of the man is Gusbimar Gonzalez. She calls it a miracle. The family has 2 children. The man is now in a hospital in the city Caracas.
The help in Venezuela continues. Many people have no home. People need food and water. The United Nations collect money for the victims.
