Austria has new rules for smokers soon. The Bundes-Rat decides this. Throwing cigarette butts on play areas costs money. You pay up to 500 Euro. Do you do it often? Then you pay up to 2,000 Euro. This protects children and nature.
Einweg-E-Zigaretten are forbidden at the end of the year. These products have Nicotine or no Nicotine. Many young people like the bright packages. The government sees a danger for health. Products like Nicotine toothpicks have stricter controls. The same rules apply as for tobacco.
Great Britain has a new ban too. From April 2027 children under 16 cannot buy Energy-Drinks. These drinks contain much Koffein. This causes fear or bad sleep. Austria has no such ban yet. The group Foodwatch criticizes this. They demand an age limit for these drinks.
