A shadow on the moon
On Friday morning there was a nature show. The earth moves between sun and moon. The earth casts a shadow on the moon. This is a partial moon-eclipse. In this night was a full moon. The moon was mostly in the shadow.
Good view in Austria
In Austria many people saw the event. Mostly in the west the view was good. The high point was at 6.13 hours. In Vienna the moon sets a bit earlier. Dust in the air makes the view a bit blurry. Still there were few clouds.
Clouds over Germany
In Germany people had less luck. There were many clouds and rain. Only in the south the sky was clear. In Bayern people saw a small crescent. People had to wake up early to see the moon. The eclipse started at 4.34 hours.
Wait for the next time
In the next years are more eclipses. On 20 February 2027 is a half shadow eclipse. A total moon eclipse comes later. It happens on 31 December 2028. Then the moon vanishes completely in the shadow.
