In Germany more people have no work. In August 3,061,000 people are jobless. This is 54,000 more people than in July. The jobless rate is now 6.5 percent.
The work office gives these numbers. The boss Andrea Nahles says: There is little movement on the market. The change stays bad for months. In summer the numbers often go up.
One reason is the weak economy. But there are also good signs. The ifo index for the business climate goes up. Many firms look better into the future. New tech like AI helps the economy.
