President Ahmed al-Sharaa names Mazloum Abdi. Abdi is now advisor to the president. He led the Kurd army SDF before.
The SDF does not exist anymore. Abdi dissolved the group days ago. The Kurd fighters belong to the Syrian army now.
Syria wants to be one united country again. There was a long civil war before. The Kurds managed own areas in the north.
Now there are new laws for the Kurds. Kurd is an official language in the land now. The Kurds get their citizenship back too.
The USA supported the SDF before. They fought against the terror group IS together. Turkey saw the SDF as a danger.
This is a success for President al-Sharaa. He has power over almost all of Syria now. The hope of the Kurds for an own area ends with this.
