There is a new poll in Austria. 1000 people take part in it. Most people want a phone ban in schools. 62 of 100 people want the ban. Phones are already banned in many schools. Students up to grade 8 can not use phones for fun. Many people also dislike social media like TikTok. 72 percent want a ban for kids under 14 years.
People think in a different way about AI. Only one in three people wants a ban on chat programs. People see AI as a tool to learn. But only few people believe in good results. Many people fear digital addiction. Cyber bullying is also a big worry. Only one fourth thinks the internet is safe for young people.
The poll shows other problems in schools too. Many people worry about integration. This means all kids learn together well. A lack of teachers is also a big topic. An old school plan worries people too. Only one third finds the school quality good today. Many people advise young people to work right after school.
