FPÖ wants ORF reform
The FPÖ party presented a plan on Wednesday. It wants to completely rebuild the ORF. The FPÖ started a Volks-Begehren for this.
A Volks-Begehren is a signature list. If many people sign, the parliament must talk about it. You can sign at the local office or on the internet.
No more mandatory fees
Today almost all households pay money for the ORF. The FPÖ wants to abolish this fee. No one should pay for the broadcaster anymore.
The money for the ORF should come from the state instead. The FPÖ thinks: The ORF needs much less money. A third of the current money should be enough.
Criticism of the program
Christian Hafenecker from the FPÖ criticizes the ORF. He says: The ORF does not report neutrally. He finds the salaries of the bosses too high.
The ORF should only show news, sport, culture, and education. It should become a true Austria broadcaster. Media minister Andreas Babler also plans changes for the ORF.
