Wood changes in big dryness. It bends. Then the parts stop working well. The keys jam during playing.
A big problem is a Heuler. The organ makes sounds alone. Nobody pushes a key. This happens through bad valves in the tool.
Old organs suffer from the heat. Also cheap organs from 1950 to 1970 break down. They often have plates from pressed wood.
New organs take the heat better. An example is the organ in the Vienna Stephans-Dom. Experts glue the wood in a special way there.
Organ makers want to make the tools fit for the climate now. They use new building systems. So the parts can move better in heat.
