In Austria, many teachers like their work. But young teachers have problems. Almost 10 percent of them quit early. A new study shows this. The study has the name OECD-Studie. Many young teachers feel very tired from work.
Young teachers work in hard classes. They teach many hours. Some do hard tasks as Klassenvorstand. They study more at the same time. Only 4 of 10 feel ready for the job. New rules help them since last year.
Christoph Wiederkehr wants better work conditions. He wants a nice job for young people. Many teachers are sick for a long time in Austria. Every 10th teacher misses work for 2 months. Reasons are Elternkarenzen or no pay.
