In the Himalaya is a heavy flash flood. This happens in the border area of Nepal and Tibet. The number of dead rises now to over 1.000 people. Only in Nepal die more than 1.000 persons. In Tibet are 16 dead victims.
The flood comes on last Wednesday. Water, mud and stones destroy whole villages. More than 4.000 people are still missing. Rescue forces search in broken houses and tunnels. Many foreigners are also still missing.
A woman from Switzerland survives the bad event. She saves herself on a hill. The army saves her later with a helicopter. An Australian man is also found alive. But for many families is no news yet.
Experts worry much about health. Clean drinking water is rare. Dirty water and trash can make diseases. These are diarrhea or fever. Helpers demand fast help for the people there.
