There is a big argument in Spain. Thousands of people go to the street. They demonstrate in many towns. In Madrid alone there are 50000 people. The reason is the town of Ceuta. Ceuta lies in North Africa. But it belongs to Spain. A month ago very many migrants arrive there. Over 70000 people cross the border. At least 80 people die.
The opposition scolds the government. Alberto Núñez Feijóo leads the conservatives. He says: The government loses control. He demands the resignation of Pedro Sánchez. Sánchez is the chief of the government. The opposition says: The government is not ready. It ignores warnings from the secret service. But the ministry of the interior says: There are no warnings.
Government chief Sánchez defends himself against the criticism. He calls the accusations false. He says: The opposition does not help. They block the distribution of migrants in Spain. Instead they demand deportations that break the law. Sánchez believes: The opposition only wants to overthrow him. The situation in Ceuta remains difficult. Many migrants sleep at the beach.
