In Japan is a new record. There live now 107,677 people with 100 years or more. That says the ministry for health in Tokio. For the first time are it more than 100,000 people. Since 56 years rises this number every year. 90 percent of these people are women. Women live in Japan on average 87 years long. Men live on average 81 years long.
The high age comes from the good Medizin-Technik. But there are also problems. There are born always fewer children. Also move only few people to Japan. Therefore shrinks the population. At the start of the year lived there 119.7 million people. That are nearly 1 million less than in the year before. Japan has after Monaco the second oldest population of the world.
The many old people cost much money. The state insurance needs more money for the care. At the same time lack in firms many workers. That comes from the low Geburten-Rate. Japan has also very high Schulden at the state. The country must now find ways for this future.
