On 7 October 2023 there was a bad attack in Israel. Fighters of Hamas killed over 1.200 people. They also took many people as Geiseln. That is now 3 years ago.
Many people in the south of Israel suffer today. They lost friends and family. Houses and villages broke. But many residents return to their home now. They build their houses again.
Some people show great courage. Luis Har was a Geisel for 129 days. Today he tells other people about his hope. Oz Davidian saved 120 people on the day of the attack. He drove 15 times with his car into the danger zone.
In the villages at the border people build much. New clinics and houses grow. The people want to live in peace again. But many still have fear. There is no lasting peace in the region yet.
Experts say: The hate is big on both sides. Also in Europe there is more hate against Jews. Researchers call this Antisemitismus. Many people wish for brave leaders. These must find ways for an end of the war.
