The car maker Škoda has a problem. Worldwide 1,700,000 cars must go to the workshop. In Germany 370,000 cars are affected. An important screw at the steering can rust. Then the screw breaks maybe. You can then not steer the car well anymore. This is very dangerous.
Four models from Škoda are affected. These are the models Kodiaq, Karoq, Octavia and Superb. These cars were built between 2015 and 2026. Also other brands from VW have this problem. These are Audi and Seat. In total about 4,000,000 cars are affected.
In the workshop the cars get new screws. These screws cannot rust anymore. The Federal Motor Transport Authority has found the error. Owners of Škoda cars shall check if their car belongs to it. The repair is important for the safety while driving.
