In Latvia people vote. They choose a new parliament. The party of Andris Kulbergs wins. The name is United List. The result is very good. The party gets 35 percent of all votes.
This is a record for Latvia. Since 1991 no party is so strong. Andris Kulbergs is now the head of the government. He leads the land since May. He wants a strong economy. Safety is very important for him.
Latvia borders Russia and Belarus. The people worry about peace. Kulbergs helps Ukraine in the war. He spends more money on soldiers. Two other parties are also strong. These are populist parties.
Populists promise simple answers. These parties have many Russian speaking voters. They want less taxes. Kulbergs does not work with them. He looks for partners for a new government. 52 percent of the people vote.
