Dispute at the World Football Association
169
There was an important meeting in Zürich. The world football association FIFA came together. The head of FIFA is Gianni Infantino. He apologized at the meeting. He had a secret plan for much money. He wanted to sell rights to the world cup. Many partners found this bad. Now he stopped this plan. The representatives from Europe are still angry. Bernd Neuendorf is the head of German football. He says: We got no good answers. The trust in Infantino is gone. Debbie Hewitt from England criticizes him too. They say: Infantino is not the right boss anymore. They now look for a new candidate for the election. There was more dispute. It is about a peace prize. Donald Trump got the prize. Many people find this strange. FIFA wants to check this prize now. But Infantino also wants to pay more money to the football associations. Many countries outside of Europe still support him therefore. Until November 18, new candidates for the election in the year 2027 can register.
