President Mahmud Abbas signs a new rule. The elections in November do not happen. Now the people vote in the year 2027. This is true for parliament and president. The last vote for parliament is in the year 2006. The last vote for president is in the year 2005.
Abbas names reasons for the delay. He blames Israel. Israel occupies the areas with soldiers. There are many rules for voters. The situation in the Gaza strip is very dangerous. Security forces from other lands are not there. Attacks from settlers in the West bank make a fair vote hard.
Critics are not happy with the choice. Abbas is already 90 years old. His time in office ends in the year 2009. He rules since then without a new vote. Many people in Palestine are angry. In the last vote the group Hamas wins many votes. After that there is a fight between Hamas and the Fatah of Abbas.
