Austria plans a big change for the army. This plan costs much money. Until 2031 the cost is almost 1 billion euro. Most money goes to the Wehr-Dienst.
From 2027 there are new rules. The training for soldiers takes more time then. There is 6 months of Wehr-Dienst. Then follows 1 month of group training. Soldiers must also practice for 60 days later.
The soldiers also get more money. The Sold goes up to 1000 euro. Also ammunition for practice costs much money. The army wants 75000 soldiers until 2032.
Also the Zivil-Dienst changes. It grows from 9 to 11 months. First this is voluntary. If there are too few soldiers, the change becomes a rule. This happens probably from 2029.
