In Austria there are new rules for power soon. The office E-Control decides this. The rules start on the 1st of January 2027. All net workers must join until mid 2028.
Before, the amount of power was important. In the future the peak load counts too. This is the highest amount of power at one time. Who turns on many machines at once pays more money. This is true for cars with power and heat pumps.
Normal homes do not need fear. Vacuum cleaners do not use too much power. Who charges a car slow saves money. There is a discount in winter too. Who uses power at night pays less for the net.
The goal is a safe power net. The cost for the build should fall. So power stays cheap for all.
