No military internet for Ukraine
163
Ukraine has no access to Starshield right now. This is a special internet via satellite. It is only for the military. Marco Rubio said this on Saturday. Ukraine wanted to use the system for attacks. These attacks should happen deep in Russia. The US now talks with Kiev about the use.
There is also a dispute about Starlink. This is an offer for normal customers. But Ukraine uses it for drones. Last week there were problems. The connection stopped during fast flights. Volodymyr Zelenskyy said: The US made the internet slow on purpose. Rubio says: This is not true. The White House ordered no slowdown.
The company SpaceX owns both systems. The boss of the company is Elon Musk. Starshield offers better encryption than Starlink. This protects secret data better. Rubio says the Starlink internet is fast again now. But Zelenskyy says no to this claim. He sees the problems as a planned action against his country.
