In October, bad news hit the job market. In Austria, almost 390,000 people have no work. This is more than last year. The number grows for 43 months.
Men and women face different results. For men, the number of jobless people falls. For women, the number grows a lot. This happens because of job groups. Many women work in shops and health. These areas have fewer jobs now.
The economy grows very slowly. This small help is not enough. It does not lower joblessness in Austria yet. In Tyrol, the number grows by 1.6 percent. In Carinthia, the number falls by 1.1 percent.
