On Wednesday, the Bonn Regional Court convicted the child psychiatrist 'Michael Winterhoff' of 'gef".hrlicher K").rperverletzung' (grievous bodily harm). The doctor was accused of prescribing sedating 'Psychopharmaka' to young patients for years without medical necessity. He allegedly wanted to make the children compliant for his authoritarian parenting methods. While the public prosecutor's office demanded a prison sentence of several years, the defense pleaded for acquittal.
In 'Freiburg', a 31-year-old man was sentenced to four years and nine months in prison. He had confessed to luring a six-year-old girl away from the 'Rulantica' leisure pool in the summer of 2025 and sexually abusing her in a cornfield. The case caused nationwide horror and led to criticism of the park's security staff, who allegedly initially ignored the parents' calls for help.
Another verdict was delivered in Kaiserslautern: A 22-year-old man received a six-year prison sentence after a knife attack on a ten-year-old girl. Both lived in the same foster family. The perpetrator had tried to kill the child to cover up a prior sexual assault.
At the same time, investigators from the European Public Prosecutor's Office ('EUStA') conducted a large-scale raid against a network of tax fraudsters. The suspects are alleged to have evaded millions in 'Umsatzsteuern' (value-added taxes) through the illegal trade of luxury cars and medical masks. The searches focused mainly on North Rhine-Westphalia, particularly in 'Iserlohn', as well as several other EU states.
