Many boxes for washing soap have much air. The Arbeiter-Kammer in Ober-Osterreich checked this. They tested 11 different products. Two big brands have very empty boxes. The boxes are almost half empty. The air is 43 percent of the box.
Customers feel tricked by the big boxes. The makers give reasons for the air. They say: The air keeps the soap safe. It helps when you open the box. The Arbeiter-Kammer does not believe this. Some products have less air.
Two products have less than 20 percent air. The Arbeiter-Kammer wants new laws now. A box must not have too much air. The pack must show the real amount clearly. Buyers should count the number of washes. This shows the real price.
