Microsoft makes the Xbox more expensive. Prices rise worldwide on August 1. Consoles then cost 88 to 132 Euros more.
A reason is expensive parts for computers. Memory chips now cost much more money. Artificial Intelligence also needs these parts. This makes building the consoles more expensive.
In the USA the Xbox Series S soon costs 500 dollars. The Series X model soon costs 800 dollars there. Exact prices for Europe do not exist yet. So far the Series X costs about 600 Euros here.
Other firms also raised their prices. Sony and Nintendo now also ask for more money. Fans of video games must pay more everywhere. Experts see problems for Microsoft.
The new game GTA 6 comes out soon. Sony makes much advertising for the PlayStation 5. Some fans believe: GTA 6 is only for PlayStation. But that is not true.
The game also appears for the Xbox. But Microsoft makes less advertising for it. Experts now fear a disadvantage for Microsoft. Many players might buy a PlayStation instead.
