Experts from the parliament checked the new budget. They see big risks for the state money. The goal for the year 2028 is not sure. The deficit shall drop in that year. The deficit is missing money in the cash box. It shall only be 3 percent.
The experts do not believe in this goal. They say: The government plans too hopefully. The finance ministry expects too high taxes. At the same time the debts of the state rise. Until the year 2031 they could be very high.
There are many reasons for the worry. The economy is not stable right now. The army needs more money for new weapons. The payment for the EU could become more expensive. Also high costs for climate protection threaten the budget.
Austria probably misses the goals for the climate. That can cost up to 3 billion Euro. The experts therefore demand strict saving. All parts of the state must help. Only then the budget stays safe in the future.
